An Italian consortium has successfully completed a suborbital demonstration of an air-launched rocket system. The project, which utilised a Dornier Alpha Jet aircraft and T4i’s HAX25 sounding rocket equipped with avionics supplied by GMV, was initiated to support Italy’s push to develop a more responsive launch capability. The Aviolancio programme, which translates roughly to “air […]

For decades, NASA has advanced on-board spacecraft computer processors that coordinate and execute the functions needed to support mission success. Space computing originated in the 1960s with the Apollo Guidance Computers, which were pivotal for guidance, navigation, and control computations during NASA’s first Moon missions. For decades, radiation-hardened processors have been the backbone of the […]

NASA astronaut Chris Williams captured the Milky Way rising above Earth’s atmospheric glow on April 13, 2026, while aboard a SpaceX Dragon docked to the International Space Station. This atmospheric glow is also called airglow. It occurs when atoms and molecules in the upper atmosphere, excited by sunlight, emit light to shed their excess energy. […]

With a small blue crane, four researchers hoist a cylindrical fuel cell, which looks like a stack of flattened silver and gold soda cans bundled together, into the air and lower it into a rectangular cart on wheels. A tangle of tubes and wires spiral away from the system, where nearly 270 sensors and 1,000 […]

The European Space Agency has begun mitigation efforts for key elements of its LISA mission after a White House budget proposal sought, for the second year running, to eliminate most of NASA’s planned support. One of these mitigation efforts was formalised on 5 May, when ESA awarded a €26.1 million contract to Thales Alenia Space […]

NASA’s home for experimental flight is welcoming more flyers to its already high-performing fleet as it continues to support science and aeronautics test missions – continuing the legacy of pioneers like Neil Armstrong. NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California, added multiple aircraft this year: two F-15s supersonic jets, a Pilatus PC-12 utility plane, […]

DOC-NEWS
REFERENCE
Where does this space news come from?
Every story on the Delta-V news feed is written and published by an outside outlet — SpaceNews, NASASpaceflight, Space.com, ESA, Ars Technica and dozens more — and reaches the page through the Spaceflight News API. Delta-V displays the publisher's own headline, thumbnail and summary, then links straight to their site. Delta-V does not host, rewrite or republish article text.
How often is the spaceflight news feed updated?
The feed is re-fetched every thirty minutes and always ordered newest first, so a story normally appears on Delta-V within an hour of the publisher posting it. Each card shows how long ago its story was filed, and hovering the timestamp gives the exact publication time in UTC.
Can I filter space news by outlet or search for a topic?
Yes. The source chips above the feed narrow it to a single outlet, and the search box matches text in headlines and summaries. Both controls write to the URL — /news?source=SpaceNews or /news?q=starship — so a filtered feed can be bookmarked, shared or reopened from browser history.
Do these articles open on Delta-V or on the publisher's site?
Every headline opens the publisher's own page in a new tab. Delta-V is an index, not a mirror: the reporting, the images and the ad revenue belong to the outlet that produced the story.
Where do I find launch dates rather than news?
Launch schedules live on the Delta-V launch pages, which carry a live countdown, pad, vehicle and mission detail for every upcoming orbital flight. The news feed covers reporting about spaceflight; the launch schedule covers the flights themselves.
